Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre scoops 2 awards at LearnX Live 2022!
Androgogic is pleased to share that Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) won the Best LMS and Best New eLearning Adopter awards at LearnX Live at the end of last year.
LearnX Live is a trusted awards program which recognises excellence in Learning and Development. Run since 2008, the summit and awards show are highly attended every year. This year, Androgogic and client-partners won 9 awards across a variety of award segments.
Peter Mac is a world leading cancer research, education and treatment centre and Australia’s only public health service solely dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer. 3,300 staff and students, including more than 750 laboratory and clinical researchers, are all focused on providing better treatments and care for patients, and potential cures for cancer.
The opportunity
In 2019, Androgogic helped Peter Mac develop a learning solution using the Androgogic Edition Totara Talent Experience Platform. This platform includes a sophisticated Learning Management System that would allow internal learners to search for and undertake on-demand education when they needed it. This was achieved by implementing a dynamic catalogue which allowed users to search for and enrol into training as they required it.
In 2021, it became necessary to implement an option for external users to be able to search the catalogue, pay for training, and enrol into courses as necessary. These users might not be internal Peter Mac staff, so external learners would require their own custom user experience.
The solution
Androgogic implemented the Androgogic Catalogue, an enhancement for the Totara Talent Experience Platform, with an eCommerce component, so that users can easily register for the site, purchase and enrol in one or many courses as required. The Androgogic Catalogue is integrated with Securepay, which makes purchases from the LMS smooth, fast, and secure.
Androgogic also developed a new dashboard for external learners. Internal users, such as Peter Mac employees, have different requirements for what they see on a landing page. To address this, Androgogic used the Audiences function in the Totara Talent Experience Platform to ensure that internal and external users see only the information they need to see.
This solution is extensible and has also enabled Peter Mac to craft a new user experience for their target group of external users.
The results
Peter Mac now has access to a sophisticated and easy to manage learning solution that facilitates the training of employees, and the purchase of courses for external learners. This award winning solution allows learners to easily create their own user accounts, purchase learning, complete their training, and see their progress on a custom dashboard that reflects their needs.
Internal Peter Mac stakeholders have the ability to use the extensive reporting functionality in the Totara Talent Experience Platform to discover information about their internal and external learners. External users have the ability to enrol into asynchronous training, waitlist for live seminars, and book into training when they need it.
