The AFL Coaches Association and Androgogic were recognised with Platinum awards for  Best Learning & Development Project and Best LMS for the Tackle Your Feelings program at LearnX Live earlier this year. A blended learning approach combining face-to-face and online learning, Tackle Your Feelings teaches coaches about mental health and aims to create a supportive culture for the entire AFL community.

The Tackle Your Feelings program adds to the skill sets of AFL coaches by teaching them how to understand, recognise, and manage signs of poor mental health. Key success criteria on the LMS learning delivery side included easy site navigation and a smooth user journey, site security through user roles, online communication, and the ability to capture grade and/or completion information from assessments. To achieve this, Androgogic’s educational technologists and courseware designers collaborated with a wide range of AFL stakeholders to implement the program.

Tackle Your Feelings program manager, Nick Walsh, said, “Creating the user-friendly platform would not have been possible without Androgogic and I want to thank them in particular for their leadership and guidance on the projects we’ve worked on to date.”

Given the success of the Tackle Your Feelings program, further development is planned to extend its reach across Australia.
