Edword - EasyCorrect’s feedback tool that has everyone engaged

This week Androgogic arranged for Jacob Gadegaard - EasyCorrect’s Chief Learning Officer - to present the Edword feedback tool, as part of the eWorks webinar series. Edword is an online tool that integrates with Moodle, Totara, Canvas and Teams, and which has shifted the paradigm of how student feedback can form an integral part of the learning process.

Edword tackles two problems with written assignment feedback: the time consuming and repetitive nature of the teacher’s task in giving feedback to students, as well as helping to identify the loss of learning potential that arises from feedback that the students don’t understand or that doesn’t help them learn. With Edword, instructors have the ability to provide diverse and engaging feedback: written, audio and/or video as well as providing quiz questions and embedding external links in their comments. Students then evaluate their instructor’s feedback, so that comments which don’t promote learning can be identified and improved for the future.

Edword is the next step in feedback solutions, from the days of a red marker, to today’s seamless integration with Moodle and antiplagiarism software Urkund by Ouriginal. Collaboration with colleagues, data collection, faster marking turnaround, and increased engagement are all the feedback we are seeing with Edword.
