Eastern Health wins Best Pandemic Response at LearnX 2021
Eastern Health, a valued Androgogic client-partner, won Best Pandemic Response at LearnX Live 2021 in November last year.
The LearnX Live awards recognise excellence in Learning and Development. The trusted awards show has run annually since 2008. In 2020, Androgogic and partners won seven LearnX Live awards recognising work from client-partners such as First Nations Foundation, Austin Health, Endeavour Foundation, and Griffith University.
This year, Androgogic won 18 awards alongside our client-partners, including Eastern Health.
Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest metropolitan public health services, with over 50 facilities and supporting learning and development for over 10,500 staff, plus nursing, allied health and medical students.
In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic meant that all face-to-face training at Eastern Health had to stop, and a rapid transition involving the development of online resources had to commence immediately.
As a result, Eastern Health’s Occupational Violence and Aggression program was quickly moved online. Facilitators recorded training in dedicated spaces onsite, and videos were uploaded to their Totara Learn LMS. Knowledge checks and interactive elements were added to the videos using the H5P plugin.
Using the flexible label resource in Totara Learn, staff were able to select which learning pathway best matched their role inside the course, replicating the freedom they had when attending a face-to-face training session previously.
Cora Browne, an Occupational Violence and Aggression Trainer at Eastern Health, said, about the course:
“The platform tools have been easy to learn and use for a not hugely tech-savvy team. Users have become quickly accustomed to the platform and with minimal assistance find it obvious and intuitive to manipulate. This has engaged the workforce in transitioning to a predominantly digital learning experience in a more focused and engaged way.”
